Meet Mrs. Greene!
A Theatre Educator for 12 years, Mrs. Greene is passionate about creating life long learners and appreciators of the arts. She believes theatre should be fun and models her classroom to be structured, but give students the freedom to express themselves through project based learning and scene work. She worked for five years as a Technical Theatre Director at A&M Consolidated High School in College Station, TX. While there, she created the tradition of an annual all-school musical, co-directed the improv troupe and advanced to UIL OAP Area with an 80s version of A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Women of Lockerbie. She moved to North Texas to work at McKinney Boyd High School as an Assistant Director. At Boyd, she established their improv troupe, Bronco Comedy Corps, choreographed, costumed, directed and loved teaching everything from Theatre I to Advanced Technical Theatre and Acting classes. With Boyd, she advanced to Region with The Angelina Project and was also part of their ITS National Mainstage performance of Legally Blonde. She opened Braswell in 2016 and has loved every minute of this adventure! On a personal note, Mrs. Greene has been married for seven years and has four pets-- two dogs and two cats.
Meet Mr. Parker!
Ben Parker is excited to be joining the Braswell family after over 16 years working in educational theatre. He loves to help students overcome challenges and the preconceived limits they have in both scene work and theatrical design. For seven years Mr. Parker was the Head Theatre Director at Cedar Hill High School where he started an annual student written and produced play festival, had a production selected to perform at the Texas Thespian State Festival and a national qualifier in the August Wilson Monologue Competition. He was also an Assistant Director at JJ Pearce High School for two years and worked on their State and National Thespian Festival selected musical.
Mr. Parker has an undergraduate degree in Broadcast Journalism from Texas Wesleyan University and is nearly finished with his Master of Arts in Theatre from the University of Houston. He is proof that good theatre professionals are lifelong learners and that it is never too late to go back to school! Mr. Parker has been married for 17 years and has a 14 year old daughter and three dogs (Heidi, Lola and Siegfried).
